Background Story:
Jean Remy Moët is said to have built the Trianon and Chandon hôtels from 1805 onwards to host Napoléon and his numerous entourages. Today, the colonnades and marble floors still echo the footsteps of their illustrious guests who succeeded themselves over the centuries.
The love story began in 1745 when Louis XV’s favourite, The Marquise de Pompadour, who surrounded herself with the greatest artists and philosophers of the era, used to proclaim that “champagne is the only wine that leaves a woman beautiful after drinking”. Some of the greatest women in history have contributed to the celebrity of Moët & Chandon champagne. Both Napoleon’s mother and his wife, Josephine, were its powerful proponents under the First Empire.Madame de Pompadour.

IWC Comment:
Pale yellow. An enticing blend of red berries, butter and toast on the nose; this settled down to an earthy, smoky character that reminded me of Batard-Montrachet. Full and rich, with flavors of musky yellow plum and ripe pear accented by crisp mineral notes. Really long and vibrant on the building finish, if not as precise or elegant as the 1996. Still, of the two vintages, this is the one I would prefer to drink over the next five or years or so.

Personal Comment:
Sight: Pale Golden color with medium thin tears. And elegant bubbles.
Nose: Citrus, and pear aromas. It brings up some essential freshness and soda drink flavors.
Taste: Slightly bitter companies with proper acidity. It transforms into crisp taste after all
酒液呈現金黃色澤而偏亮, 酒柱為中等的細緻度, 熱帶水果風味是第一印象你馬上可以感受得到的, 香味之中彷彿包含著淡淡的微大力汽水的味道, 並帶來少許的清新舒適, 稍稍淺嚐, 微苦, 微酸, 並攜帶著少許的澀度, 最後融合成一股甘爽甜美的口感, 在這整個品飲的過程中, 可以清楚的欣賞到杯中那極細緻氣泡輕輕盈盈地在往上游移, 持久不消退的泡泡, 更加提升了觀賞的樂趣, 此外濃郁的香味及充足的甜度, 很能讓人沉醉不已.
