Chateau Lagrange Saint Julien 2002, Region: St. Julien, Year: 2002, RP Score: 89, WS Score: 92, ST Score: 90, Price: $29.99
**Rober Parker Comment: "Deep ruby/purple with considerable amounts of toasty new oak blasting out of the glass, this wine’s heavy-handed vanilla oakiness conceals its relatively extracted, rich, tannic flavors. It remains dumb and closed, but offers excellent depth, power, and richness. While there is plenty here, patience is required. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020. Score: 89. —Robert Parker, April 2005."
WS Comment: "Pretty aromas of blackberries and currants, with hints of lead pencil. Full-bodied, yet very balanced, with a solid core of fruit and ultrafine tannins. Really well-crafted wine. Lagrange often excels in less than easy vintages, like 2002. Excellent. Best after 2008. Score: 92. —James Suckling, March 31, 2005."
ST Comment: "Bright ruby-red. Brisk aromas of currant, cedar and minerals. Firmly built, complex and aromatic, with lovely flavor definition and excellent palate coverage. Finishes with mouthcoating tannins and very good length. An excellent vintage for Lagrange. In comparison to this wine, the young 2004 seems more medicinal and austere, with a larger structure. Score: 90. —Stephen Tanzer, May 2005.**

El Coto 2001 Rosado La Rioja, Region: Rioja Spain, Year: 2001, WN Score: 89, Price: $8.69
**WN comment: "Pale, rusty, salmon. Fresh nose of cherry-strawberry. Lively, delicious flavors of cherry and strawberry fruit, spicy cinnamon and lemon; nice mouth-feel with a clean, dry, mineral-laced finish. A serious, full-flavored yet lovely wine and a fine example of a classically styled."**

Peter Lehmann Wines Clancy's Gold Barossa Valley 2003 Shiraz, Region: Australian Shiraz/syrah, Year: 2003, ST Score: 89, Price: $14.99
**ST Comment: "Medium red. Redcurrant, dark cherry, spice cake, cinnamon and mint aromas on the distinctly cool, restrained nose. A silky midweight with crisp, focused red berry flavors accented by Asian spices and dried herbs. Quite poised, even elegant on the finish, where some well-judged oak spice slowly appears."**

Schild Estate Barossa Shiraz 2003, Region: Barossa Valley South Australia, Year: 2003, Price: $ 15.69
**WS Comment for 2002: "2002 Barossa Shiraz - A big, bold Barossa Shiraz nose with aromas of black pepper, licorice and ripe plums. Full bodied and opulent, the palate has firm tannins, flavours of vanilla drived from American oak and a finish of ripe cherries. Score of 94 from Halliday and 92 from Wine Spectator. Cellar to 10 years."**

Terrabianca Campaccio 2001, Region: Italia, Year: 2001, WS Score: 91, Price: $24.99
**WS Comment: "Wonderful aromas of plums, berries and vanilla. Medium to full bodied, with velvety tannins and a pretty toasted oak and vanilla aftertaste. Very smoky finish. Always outstanding. Best after 2006."**
